Bubby Got Hitched!

Curtis's beloved little sister, Allison, got married on August 21st so we headed down to Arizona to celebrate. And celebrate we did! We went to an amazing dinner put on by her husband (I still can't believe little Bubby is married!) Sam's family, The Nielsens, we attended a BEAUTIFUL reception, and we spent some much-needed time with missed friends and family. We even got to see our brand new baby niece, Macy (just 2-1/2 weeks old!). Needless to say, we had a blast in good ol' AZ.

The happy couple.

The fam.

Brothers and sisters.

Villa Siena - the reception spot. It was gorgeous.

Katiebug was playing in the fountain and ended up with the whole front of her dress soaked. If you can't pull that off as a two-year-old when can you?! I loved it.

The beautiful bride.

Kyle or "Grunty" as Curtis affectionately calls him.

Congratulations Sam and Alli! We love you!
*Thank you to Dani for the pics (I stole them off her blog). I didn't take one photo while we were there!

"Give A Man A Fish, You Have Fed Him For A Day...."

.....But TEACH a man to fish, and you have fed him for a lifetime."

Unless his name is Curtis Heyman. Then you can teach him to fish and he will give his fish away.

So its a pretty well known fact that I hate seafood. Not just fish, ANYTHING that comes from water (lobster, oysters....blah). A few weeks ago someone in my ward said "hey, if you ever catch a fish and don't want it, give it to us!". Of course I took that as a challenge and since then, I've handed out some healthy sized fish to members in my ward. The best part is they LOVE it! I show up at their door and say "Hey, I caught this big fish about 1/2 hour ago and thought you and your family might enjoy cooking it up." Its a lot of fun and people get really excited about eating fresh trout out of the Provo River.

Bon Appetit!

Salt Flats

Last weekend my brother and I headed up to Bonneville to watch my Grandpa race. Curtis stayed behind in Provo to help his parents buy a condo and although my we all missed his presence, we're happy that all his hard work paid off! Ray and Diane bought a place up here for their kids to live in which means we'll be moving soon! We're sad to leave our ward, but we're very excited to move into such a nice place!

Justin and I drove up early in the morning and the day couldn't have been more beautiful.

Me and brudder.

I love this photo of Grandpa. It's so him.

The pits off in the distance.

Our spot. Check out those wheels.

Grandpa getting ready to "fly to the moon." He was hoping to go over 200 mph with this new car but there were some malfunctions. Maybe next time.

Almost to the starting line.

The pit crew.

Open road.

Final inspections.

Got salt?

It was so good to see my family. I miss them! Next post: Alli's wedding in Arizona!!!!

That's what best friends are for.

Chelsea came to visit last weekend and she couldn't have come at a better time. I was in serious need of some Chosey time! I picked her up from the airport on Friday and we headed up to Temple Square to check out the grounds and some other nearby sites. Then we headed off to dinner to have pizza at one of my local favs: Setabello. I love the temple. The grounds are so peaceful.

Here's Chose-Pose at her finest:

You've got to get a photo on the pedestal. It's a must-do.

Chelsea forgot her camera card so I let her borrow mine for the weekend. You can thank her for all the pretty pics.

Saturday we woke up bright and early and headed to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house. It was really beautiful and great to be able to share some of my most cherished beliefs with my best friend.

Next we headed up Provo Canyon and did some backwoods hiking. It was kind of hot on the way up but the way back down was gorgeous. I love being able to drive only a few minutes to get out of town and into the mountains.

Me and Hayden (my mom's dog). Notice he is wearing a back-pack which is holding all our waterbottles, keys, cell phones, etc. It was great. He loves his "pack-pack."

I kept telling Chels that she should go blow some of these out like Belle in Beauty and the Beast.

The dynamic duo.

We hiked up to a natural spring and ended up drinking some water out of the creek. I know it doesn't sound like a good idea but it tasted soooo good... and I figured if Bear Grilles can do it, so can I!

We knew we were a little dirty but had no idea how filthy we were until we took off our shoes and socks. We were laughing so hard at our "Robin Williams man legs."
We spent the rest of the weekend watching girl movies and having girl talk while Cur relegated himself to watching Saints & Soldiers in the other room on his laptop. What a good sport.

I miss having great girlfriends near. Thanks for visiting Chels! I miss you already. Next time bring Jay and we'll go play in the snow!!!

Birthday Burbo!!!

Today is the birthday of my sweetheart.

He was the cutest baby boy.

And he's still the cutest.

We have always had a blast together. He's one of the most fun people I know.

Curtis is a loyal and great friend. He's one to count on. I love this pic of him and his boys.

He always makes me laugh and keeps me grounded. I love that about him.

Curtis is an amazing man. He is kind, loyal, loving, devoted to the gospel, puts others first, and is always looking for ways to better himself. He is an incredible husband, son, brother, and I know he will be an amazing father. I'm so grateful to have such a wonderful man at my side.

Did I mention how handsome he is?

Happy 29th Curtis!!!!!!! I love you!!!!!!
