One of the ways that I show Candace how much I love her is by singing to her this song every night before going to bed. Cbug's favorite part is the beginning: "You're my Honeybunch, Sugarplum, Pumpy-umpy-umpkin..."

Gone Fishin'

This last weekend we went to Loa, UT to go fishing with Curtis' great uncle Merril. Loa is where Curtis' Grandma and Grandpa are from and where his mom, Diane, spent many summer vacations. It was great to see where Curtis' grandparents were raised, to get to know Merril, and to explore the high country.

We started the day at Thousand Lakes where we fished at a handful of incredibly beautiful, hidden lakes on the tops of mountains. It's amazing how the scenery can change all within a 20 minute drive. The land went from high desert to pines with snow and lakes still covered in ice. Although we didn't have much luck at Thousand Lakes as far as the fishing went, we had a great time being out of the city breathing the clear mountain air.

This is the second lake. We saw a ton of fish jumping but they refused to bite our hooks.

Next we headed to Fish Lake where Merril took us out on his boat. We caught over a dozen rainbow trout and splake.

This is my favorite photo of the trip. We talked Merril into letting us take his pic with a fish he caught and as soon as we snapped the camera that fish wriggled right out of his hands! This is Uncle Merril at his finest.

We were sad to leave and we can't wait to go back. I love being outdoors. Even if my hands have to smell all fishy.

Spring is Here.

I've been in denial for quite some time now about spring. "Spring" to me means I get to lay by the pool whenever I want... NOT an intermittent snow here or there. However... it seems that spring is really here for me now with no turning back. I love it and I've grown to love this place. Having actual seasons in the year has been a pleasant suprise for me (although you might ask me again this winter). There are things about Utah that have become a part of me now. If I ever leave, I know I'll miss them just like I now dearly miss the smell of the desert after a heavy monsoon rain, or the beautiful Arizona sunsets.

Cur took me on a ride and a picnic tonight. We had so much fun exploring trails in Provo Canyon. The country here is amazing. It's so green I can't get over it. Who knew grass would just spring up on it's own like this? People would die for grass like this in AZ. I may have gone a little snap happy with the camera so bear with me.

We came around the corner of a mountain and all of a sudden it opened up into this huge valley below us. It really was breathtaking.

80's Movie Trivia

OK, quick, where do you recongnize this car from?

CORRECT, Doc and Marty McFly used this car (a "Dolerean") to travel back in time! Don't you love Back to the Future? There are so many fun 80's movies that helped define my childhood dreams. I remember burying treasures in my backyard so I could discover them like Goonies; I remember practicing karate with my friends thinking I was Karate Kid; I recall going on adventures like Indiana Jones, using a light saber like Luke Skywalker, saying "Cowabunga" like a Ninja Turtle, and pretending I was a GhostBuster.

I also remember thinking how cool I was the first time I held onto a car while skateboarding like Marty.

Did you know that ever since I saw Back to the Future as a 5-6 yr old, I've wanted that tricked out Toyota truck McFly drives his chick in? Do you remember how cool that truck was back then???

Well, I just got my truck back from the shop after putting the Back to the Future package on it! Best part: It was free!

All Good Things Must Come To An End

So before we close this chapter of our blog, we need to tie up a couple loose ends including cover THE topic you've all been waiting for:

Before we do that, let us show you the view from our villa:

In our room we had a safe, microwave, and a fridge which was really nice. We feel very grateful to Candace's mom and my parents for the wedding gifts that have allowed us to have such an amazing honeymoon.

So has the Pig Flu effected our honeymoon? Yes. I sneezed in a restaurant and everyone stopped what they were doing and looked over at me. You could've heard a pin drop! My server then came out with a medical mask on the rest of the time. Workers at the supermarket and other public places had medical masks on. I caught myself looking at others everytime I heard a cough or sneeze. People were on edge. But life went on, thankfully, and we just kept our distance from crowds and regularly washed our hands.

There was a lot of concern by travelers about getting home. Were they going to let us fly? How early would we need to be at the airport...and so on. We got to the airport and found this going on:

Before you could check in, you had to answer some health questions and have your temperature taken by one of these ladies. They hold something up to your forehead and if you have a temperature, you don't board. Cbug caught some of the action for you:

I've recently started snorting when I laugh and oinking when I cough. Could that be a sign? My Bishop is a doctor at the MTC and I emailed him to see if he thought we should come to church today. He said it would probably be best if we stayed home as a precaution, so here we are bloggin away! We're glad to be home healthy and happy. Hope you enjoyed our honeymoon blog-a-thon.

Stranded On A Deserted Island

One day, Candace and I took a ferry from Playa del Carmen to an island 40 minutes away called Cozumel. If you ask Cbug what her favorite day was, she MIGHT tell you this was it. And, for good reason.

HECK YES we rented a scooter! $20 got us the scooter, unlimited mileage and gas, insurance, 2 helmets and 4 hours of fun. Cozumel is an island about 10 miles wide and 25 miles long with highways that run along the coast. We toured it Dumb & Dumber style.

Similar to the rest of our honeymoon experience, there was NO ONE there. I saw more iguanas than people. Check out the beautiful views:

We eventually ended up picnicing at a beautiful, hidden beach on Cozumel. After eating, I got my snorkel on. Who knew I was born to snorkel? I love it. (We practically had the whole island to ourselves!)

I give Cbug a hard time that she fell in love with me cuz of my scooters. When we dated, she loved nothing more than to jump on the back of my scooter so we could paint the town. Here's to falling in love all over again...

On the ferry ride back we rocked out to these guys who were actually really, really good. Part of the fun was watching the drunk guy on the first row play his air guitar.
